Responsibilities

Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify doubtful or incomplete documentation for accurate coding
Ensure compliance with coding policies and procedures, as well as governmental regulations and payer guidelines
Monitor changes in coding practices and updates to relevant regulations, incorporating them into daily practice as necessary
Conduct pre-bill audits to ensure the accuracy of coding prior to billing submission
Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff on best practices and coding updates

Requirements

Certification as a Medical Coder (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high accuracy in coding practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
