Summary

Sparks Group has partnered with a behavioral health care and social services organization located in Washington, DC. Together we are seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to manage appointments, client records, and ensure a smooth flow for new and existing clients. You'll greet clients, handle authorizations and scheduling, and support care coordination.

This is a full-time opportunity that will start as a contract to hire.

Responsibilities

Schedule appointments, manage client flow, and ensure a smooth transition from intake to service delivery.
Verify client documentation (residency, income, insurance) and obtain authorizations before service delivery.
Provide instructions to clients and maintain logs for staff and clients.
Document information in the agency's system and generate reports.
Coordinate care directly with clients.
Follow up on documentation and client-related tasks.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare preferred, or 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience working in a substance abuse or behavioral health setting is a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Compassion for and desire to work with clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle confidential information, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and effectively communicate with diverse clients and staff.
