PrepMD is hiring Cardiac Device Specialists to work in healthcare settings. These roles are in high demand, with a growing need for experienced, trained, and professionally developed candidates.
These specialists are responsible for delivering high-quality clinical, technical, and related services in Cardiac Rhythm Management and Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs).
The responsibilities of the Cardiac Device Specialist may include supporting our In-Clinic Solutions Team, Remote Monitoring Team, or both.
In-Clinic Solutions Team Support:
- Does full evaluation and assessment of patients with pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices and ILRs; Reprograms devices as required
- Enrolls, interrogates, and programs patients with cardiac devices and recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions, and alert indicators
- Assists in scheduling patients for follow up, remote monitoring, or replacement as indicated
- Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the healthcare team to respond to patients, plan, and initiate timely and efficient care
- Educates patients and families regarding device function and remote and/or clinic follow up scheduling
- Ensures timely and proper documentation and billing
- Participates in the device recall team if necessary
- Supports all aspects of documentation in the electronic CIED reporting system and the Electronic Medical Record
- Maintains knowledge of hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and requirements
- Is available to perform duties in satellite and affiliate device clinics as needed
Remote Monitoring Team Support:
- Performs alert triage according to guidelines provided by the client, using the client’s EHR systems to understand available patient historicals
- Provides prompt, same-day notification of all actionable/urgent alert items to the client throughout the normal operating hours of the clinic
- Provides high quality reports that align with client’s specifications
- Maintains the client’s database system through updating new patient encounters on a daily basis
- Periodically meets with the client in an effort to continuously improve services and client satisfaction
- Reconciles the device manufacturer websites (dismissing transmissions) after they have been completed
- Performs any and all other duties directed by their manager
Qualifications:
- 100% geographic flexibility to work anywhere in the U.S. (determined by the Company)
- Willingness to commit at least 1 full year of employment post-training completion
- 100% flexibility to work either onsite, remote or hybrid assignments
- Training or experience in the cardiac medical device field (specifically CIEDs) required but provided
- 4-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required with a GPA of 3.0+
- Strong communication skills and analytical skills
- Background in Engineering, Science, or Health Science (strongly preferred)
