Overview
The Coder I, Outpatient is responsible for coding ED records and PET scans. Collects predefined indicators and abstracts information from medical records. Provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinics and CPT Assistant. Codes discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate APC if applicable for reimbursement. Verifies LCDs for medical necessity. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues.
**Eligible remote states include NC, FL, GA, SC, SD, TN, TX and VA.**

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Associate's Degree Health Information Management Or Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management Preferred
