Job Summary
The
VP, Medical Director is a core medical team member who will provide sound strategic support and scientific direction based on comprehensive knowledge of our clients’ (or prospective clients’) products and therapeutic areas. Additionally, the VP Medical Director embodies the Calcium+Company’s core values of commitment, integrity, and respect in their work and relationships with their co-workers and external clients.
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
- Ensures standards are adhered to and work is timely and of the highest quality for appropriate agency representation
- Validates, supports, and increases the clinical and medical relevance of work across the agency, including existing client accounts and new business endeavors.
- Performs in-depth research and builds understanding of a brand's placement within the treatment paradigm, its efficacy and safety data, mechanism of action, and key points of differentiation within the treatment landscape
- Directly accountable for medical strategy input in the overall brand planning efforts of the agency, in collaboration with Brand Strategy and Engagement Strategy, as well as providing ongoing support throughout the new business pitch prep process
- Ensures scientific and medical accuracy in both internal and external communications
- Onboards agency staff to respective brand teams
- Collaborates internally with Account, Strategy, Project Management and Creative departments, and with clients daily
- Presents educational and strategic information to large groups both internally and during client and new business presentations, which may include individuals with a broad spectrum of backgrounds and education levels of backgrounds and education level
Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
- An MD, PharmD, or PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in medical advertising with oncologic science
- Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a detail-oriented, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment
- Working knowledge of clinical or pre-clinical research principles
- Familiarity with PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and other sources of clinical and scientific content
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where delivering tasks with a quick turnaround is necessary and expected
- Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide clear strategic/scientific direction to a variety of audiences
