Position Summary
Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
Answers telephone calls to the practice. Transfers callers to the appropriate person according to company procedures. Takes messages and ensure quick and effective delivery to the correct party. Provides backup assistance to the scheduling department as necessary.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Answers telephone calls quickly and professionally, following company procedure, connecting the caller to the correct party.
- When transferring callers, stays on the line until the requested party is on the line or a determination is made that they are not available. If the party is not available, explains the available alternate options to the caller, i.e.: transfer to another person, take a message, etc., etc. and assists the caller with their selection.
- Takes clear concise and accurate messages when necessary. Ensures that the messages are delivered to the appropriate party. If able to assist in response to caller’s request, takes whatever actions possible to do so.
- Assists scheduling department with schedule, re-schedule, or re-call of patients as able and appropriate.
- Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the company and call center mission.
- Regularly processes incoming fax activity, distributing incoming faxes as appropriate, based on needed response, urgency, etc.
- Performs other tasks and projects as requested by the management team.

Minimum Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
- More than 2 years’ experience as telephone/receptionist in medical office environment
- Excellent telephone, written and verbal communications skills, able to maintain professional approach in stress situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, “team player”, professional demeanor
- Beginning to Intermediate computer skills (medical software: Intergy, experience preferred)
Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
