Spero Institute is developing a practice management software tailored specifically for mental healthcare. In the US, the primary barriers to accessing this crucial care are the physical distance required for treatment and the associated high costs. Our solution integrates EHR systems to facilitate seamless virtual care while promoting the adoption of Value-Based Contracts to enhance insurance claims. This dual approach aims to lower suicide rates in the US by making mental healthcare both more accessible and affordable.
Role & Responsibilities
Work closely with the technology team to design, develop, and optimize our SaaS-based practice management software tailored for mental healthcare institutions.
Engage in full-stack development activities, with a keen focus on creating scalable and reliable backend systems.
Back-End Developers
- Design and implement databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation. - Understand the nuances of patient data to ensure utmost security and confidentiality.
- Analyze, evaluate, and provide recommendations on the current EHR systems, ensuring seamless integration into our SaaS platform.
- Assist in the ideation, development, and testing of predictive algorithms. Work to extract meaningful insights from patient records while always prioritizing data privacy. -Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure the database aligns with user interfaces and provides real-time data updates.
- Engage in regular debugging and troubleshooting activities, ensuring the software maintains its top-tier performance.
Front-End Developers
- Proficiency in React, with a deep understanding of JSX, state, lifecycle, and hooks.
- Strong experience in modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Demonstrated ability to translate design prototypes (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) into working code.
- Solid knowledge of Python, particularly in web development contexts.
- Familiarity with integrating front-end code with back-end systems and APIs, especially Python-based frameworks.
- Understanding of front-end architecture, focusing on performance optimization and scalability.
Requirements

- Studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of how to use AWS cloud platforms, frameworks, and tools.
- Familiarity with database design principles, with hands-on experience in SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or relevant web development languages OR Proficiency in front end languages like Node and React.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with an attention to detail.
- Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
