Position Overview
As the Vice President of Hospital Services reporting to our Chief Clinical Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our hospital services department. You will lead the development and execution of strategies that advance our mission, foster collaboration with healthcare professionals, and ensure the highest standards in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. You will oversee the development of educational programs, manage a talented team of professionals, and serve as a key liaison to hospitals, health systems, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities Include
Develop and Execute Hospital Development Strategy and Budget
- Create and implement a comprehensive hospital development strategy aligned with organizational goals and long-term plans.
- Analyze hospital market potential for organ and tissue donation, review medical records, and interpret donor potential and performance data for strategic insights.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring effective use of resources and managing expenses associated with daily operations.
Oversee Effective Hospital Communications
- Interpret legislative and regulatory changes for hospitals and communicate these changes effectively to internal staff.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for integrating legislative requirements into hospital practices, including drafting sample policies, procedures, and protocol guidelines.
- Serve as an organizational liaison to hospital associations, professional societies, and regulatory agencies, ensuring collaborative and compliant relationships.
Direct and Manage the Hospital Development Team
- Oversee the full lifecycle of activities for the hospital development team, including hiring, training, performance management, and offboarding processes.
Function as a Thought Leader and Support Research Initiatives
- Represent the organization on councils and committees for national organizations and professional societies.
- Participate in academic research studies and support other research initiatives as needed.
Lead Special Projects to Advance the Gift of Life Mission
- Collaborate with department and organizational leadership to achieve annual departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist with special projects that drive departmental and organizational advancement, ensuring alignment with the Gift of Life mission.
Qualifications
- Degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare management, hospital development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans, managing budgets, and leading teams.
- Strong understanding of organ and tissue donation processes, healthcare regulations, and hospital operations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in developing educational materials, conducting training sessions, and presenting to healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies.
